10. The jail
“Tyuryaga”(1989) - a film of American cinema, telling about the fate of one of the prisoners, Frank Leon. He approximately behaves behind bars, but after a while decides to escape. Frank is caught and he gets an extra term. The recidivist makes the enemy in the person of the head of the colony Warden Dramgul. The director of the prison, who received a black spot on his reputation because of Frank, is going to take revenge on the prisoner. He provokes the recidivist to another escape in order to imprison Leon forever in jail.
9. Prisoner R
“Prisoner R”(2009) - a crime drama telling about the prison life of prisoner R. Convict goes to prison for rape. The prison in which R falls is particularly cruel. The rapist is placed in a cell to especially dangerous prisoners who mend their orders and laws. The new cellmate will have to learn to play by the rules of the prison world and in harsh conditions to fight to save his own skin.
8. The verdict
“Sentence”(2010) is an American drama based on real events. The plot focuses on Betty Ann, whose brother Kenny Worthas is in prison, charged with murder. Kenny faces life imprisonment. Sister Worthas, confident in his innocence, decides to do everything possible to achieve release. The woman receives a law degree and further investigates the murder case to prove the innocence of the relative. A prison is not the place where her brother should be.
7. Escape Plan
“Escape plan”(2013) - an action movie with defensive positions by Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger. Design engineer and tester Ray Breslin is developing prison security systems. He is invited to test ready-made systems. Ray gets out of any prison. Already about to retire, he receives an offer that he could not refuse - to escape from prison for especially dangerous criminals. All that he knew was the name “Tomb”. Only after getting there, Ray realizes that he was framed: you should not count on the evacuation code, he simply does not act, and the head of the prison is not favorably disposed towards him. After analyzing, Ray concludes that the chances of an escape are nil. And only with the support of the prisoner Emil Rotmayer, he decides to do the impossible.
6. In hell
“In hell”(2003) - American thriller about the most cruel prison of all time, which is called“ Bloody ”. This is where the main character of the film Kyle gets for the illegal reprisal of the murderer of his wife. Arriving in this prison, the hero realizes that there is a complete chaos, like hell. Overseers are brutally mocked by prisoners, and the higher authorities arrange illegal fights between criminals. All who fall into the hellish lair lose all human qualities and turn into creatures with animal instincts. But Kyle does not intend to succumb to local laws and is going to get out of a terrible place.
5. Experiment
“Experiment”(2000) - a psychological thriller that tells about an unusual experiment by scientists. For its implementation, two groups of volunteers are found. Some of them will be prisoners, while others will be overseers. Subjects are given instructions that they must strictly follow when they enter the prison walls. If all the conditions of the experiment are met, then each participant will be paid a good amount of reward. Scientists did not even suspect that the situation could get out of control so much. While reveling in power without restriction, test guards enter the image and begin to brutally beat prisoners. But the authors of the experiment are not going to disrupt the course of events and remain on the sidelines as observers. A riot is brewing, which could result in the most terrible consequences.
4. Escape from Alcatraz
“Escape from Alcatraz”(1976) - a film about the prisoner bank robber Frank Moriss. He was placed in the most reliable prison in Alcatraz, where all eminent criminals were serving time, and not one managed to escape from there. The prison is isolated from the outside world, as it is on the island. Frank is a recidivist who has not managed to escape from the walls of any prison. 3. Law abiding citizen
“law abiding citizen”(2009) - American thriller about one of the decent inhabitants of Philadelphia, Clyde Alexander Shelton. Clyde is a happy family man, and overnight loses everything. His wife and child are killed by thieves who have entered the house. Shelton is seeking a fair trial for the killers. The bandits make a deal with a lawyer and they are released due to insufficient evidence. Heartbroken and the decision of justice, Clyde is not going to leave it that way. He decides to avenge not only the murderers of his family, but the entire justice system. Shelton goes to jail and begins a series of murders with his participation. Law enforcement agencies are perplexed, and the former law-abiding citizen keeps the whole city at bay while in prison. Only assistant district attorney Nick Rice manages to uncover the prisoner's revenge plan and render him harmless.
2. The Green Mile
“Green Mile”(1999) - a dramatic film based on a mystical novel by Stephen King. One of the main characters in the movie, the Negro John Coffey goes to jail because of the charges of the brutal murder of children. After a while, John will be taken to an electric chair. While he is waiting in line for the lattice, the Negro meets the prison overseer Paul Edgecomb. Paul learns about the miraculous gift of the convict and his non-involvement in the murder. John cures the overseer of a disease with which the doctors could not help him. The caretaker has a difficult choice: to cross the law and release John or lead him to execution. The film was awarded the Saturn Prizes and other awards.
1. Escape from the Shawshank
“The Shawshank Redemption”(1994) - drama from American cinema, which occupies a leading position in all lists of the best films. The plot focuses on banker Andy Dufrain, convicted of the murder of his wife and her lover. Fate played a cruel joke with the man, since he did not commit a crime. He was sentenced to life imprisonment and he ends up in the Shawshank maximum security prison. This place of deprivation of liberty is distinguished by particular cruelty and lawlessness. No one has yet managed to escape from here. Andy is going to do the impossible - to escape from prison hell. All that he has is hope and a longing for freedom. The film received many awards and participated in the Oscar nomination seven times.
