Each country has its own methods of education. That is why many foreigners are surprised by the behavior of Russian mothers.
For example, the American writer Tanya Mayer was so amazed that she even decided to write a book on the upbringing of Russian children.
Tanya lived in Russia for some time, managed to fall in love and give birth to a child from a Russian man, but she never married.
Now the American lives with her family in London, then in Vienna, but she admits that she can never forget Russia. By the way, in her book she speaks warmly about Russian women, praises their methods of education.

10. Enjoy pregnancy
Russian and Western women have a different attitude to pregnancy. American Tanya was very surprised that women in Russia consider pregnancy the most wonderful period in their lives. They literally enjoy it, while in the West pregnant women very often show dissatisfaction with their situation.
She writes like this: "In the West, pregnancy is the time to complain." Women constantly tell how hard it is for them to work, to do some household chores.
Another difference during pregnancy is the attitude to weight. In Russia, doctors strictly monitor the weight gain of pregnant women, often they go on a diet. In the West, pregnant women eat for two, and no one scolds them for it.
10. Decide independently
There are more than enough people who want to help a young mother with advice and recommendations in any country. Nevertheless, each woman herself decides whether to listen to the opinions of other people.
Mayer was surprised that women in Russia are not listening to anyone. They make their own decisions regarding their child.
Moreover, many act instinctively. They do not read smart books, do not consult every little thing with a pediatrician, but rarely make mistakes.
8. Accept help
In the West, it is not customary to ask for help. There, mom spends all the time with the child, and when he grows up a little, gives him to kindergarten or hires a nanny.
If a woman has good financial opportunities, she will select good staff to care for her child as early as possible.
Perhaps this situation is due to differences in income and financial situation, but in Russia, few resort to the services of a nanny. Russian women do not pay for help, they know how to ask for it, and this is wonderful!
They can leave the child with their grandfather, grandmother, sister or brother. They can always count on a friend or acquaintance, especially if she also has children.
7. Cook a lot
American Mayer in her book talks about what surprised her most about the attitude of Russian mothers to nutrition. They are constantly cooking.
The morning of the Russian mother begins with the preparation of breakfast, as a rule, this is porridge. For lunch, they cook soup.
By the way, Tanya was delighted with the Russian borsch. All the food that women in Russia give children is simple and wholesome.
Mom in the West is much easier for babies. They buy ready-made products, they can feed a small child pizza, pasta and other "adult" dishes. They have no remorse about this.
They believe that they are doing the right thing, while the Russian mother is worried that she put in salt, a little more than necessary or bought a zucchini in a store, not in the market.
6. Do not rush to return to work
Western mothers cannot wait until their baby is 3 months old to run to work.
In Russia, everything is completely different. A childcare leave lasts 3 years, only then the women go to work.
Of course, not all Russian mothers are ready to stay at home until 3 years old, but most of them. Moreover, they do not believe that they are serving a service, they know how to enjoy every minute spent with a child.
They are not afraid to “fall out” of life, and when they go to work, they remember this time with warmth.
Women whose husbands earn good money and provide their families with everything they need are in no hurry to return to work. They do not send the child to kindergarten, while they do not lock him at home, but lead him to developmental classes or to short-stay groups.
5. Love to travel
Russian mothers are distinguished by an unlimited love of travel. Even the birth of a child is not an obstacle for them, they are easy to lift. They gather the whole family and go to the sea or abroad.
They can travel with a baby. They are not afraid of difficulties and are ready to go on vacation, even if the “cat cried” money. They can live in cheap hotels where there are no conditions for a child, or rent a room in the private sector.
If a Western mother decides to travel, she will reserve a good hotel (for half a year!), Think through everything to the smallest detail.
4. Do not require help from a man
Russian and foreign mothers will never understand each other. In the West, both mother and father raise children.
In Russia, women feel normal that dad does not spend time with his child. He works a lot, gets tired, and maybe he doesn’t exist at all. It cannot be said that this has a good effect on the upbringing of children, but the situation cannot be changed.
Western women are ready to "cut" their husbands because they do not spend much time on the child. In Russia, a woman will thank her husband for looking after his son or daughter while she was taking a shower.
3. Support each other
American women like to label, discuss, judge. Russian mothers are also not against gossiping, but in any difficult situation they will give each other a helping hand.
For the American Tanya, this was a real discovery. She noted with surprise that women in Russia are much kinder, more cordial, sincere than in other countries.
In the West, women gather in clubs of interest and muddy those who disagree with them.
In Russia, women try to raise happy children, they help each other with advice, support, and deeds. Friendship makes them strong.
2. Look good
In his book, Meyer writes that Russian women who walk on the playground with children look much better than "American women on Friday night, going to a party."
She also compares them to Austrians who try to dress comfortably and after giving birth completely forget that they were once beautiful women.
Indeed, if you look at Russian mothers, you can see many beautiful well-groomed women. They do manicures, hairstyles, apply makeup, dress beautifully in order to just go out for a walk with the child.
Of course, among our compatriots there are many well-groomed, but if you meet a girl “in full dress” at the playground, be sure - she is from Russia.
1. Love their children
This is not to say that mothers from other countries do not feel warm feelings for their children, but Russian women give themselves to them without a trace. They forget about themselves, love so selflessly that they are ready to give their lives for their child.
They yearn when they send their offspring to the summer camp. They can spend hours playing with their son or daughter, delighting them.
Russian mothers will find a way out of any situation, they know how to smile at failures and always go forward, because they know that now they are responsible not only for themselves, but also for their children.
